Knoxville (WATE) - Rob Ford isn't the only one making news in Toronto these days.
The NBA's Raptors have a pretty good team and on Tuesday they invited former Vol Jarnell Stokes in for a pre-draft workout.
"I only have five more workouts to fulfill my dream," Stokes said after his practice.
"I am one of those guys competing for a spot in Toronto. I feel like I have just as good a shot as anyone. Although I came from somewhat of a smaller school as far as basketball, I feel like I showed today I am just as good as anyone here."
Toronto was a playoff team this season and has the 20th pick in the first round of the June 26 draft.
Stokes would love to hear his name called and was pleasantly surprised when he arrived in the city on Monday night.
"Last night when I came into Toronto and saw how pretty downtown looked, I had no idea," he said.
"I was interviewed by the front office at the (NBA) combine and those guys seemed like they really liked me and were very genuine and they gave me some positive feedback. So I think they're really considering me."
Stokes worked out last week for his hometown Memphis Grizzlies.
