WHITLEY CITY, Ky. (WATE) - A statue stolen from a Kentucky coal miner's grave was found Tuesday night.

Family members of Jonathon Yancey in McCreary County recently purchased the statue in his memory.

He died back in 2012 from a heart condition

Investigators believe the statue was taken sometime over the weekend.

Overnight, family members told 6 News the statue was found.  It's not currently known where it was recovered.

Even though their statue was found, they say other graves have been burglarized as well.

"We would like them to stop it's disrespectful to the dead and to the living and it hurts. This is our family, and we loved them it meant a lot to us. They may not mean a lot to nobody else but they mean a lot to us," said Kimberly Strunk.

The McCreary County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate.
