KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two additional people were arrested Thursday after deputies located the suspect vehicle in last Sunday's incident in which a suspect was shot after trying to run over two Knox County Sheriff's Office deputies in East Knox County.

Allan Anthony Ownby, 38, is charged with tampering or fabricating evidence and theft. Mechelle Lynn Parton, 36, is charged with accessory after the fact and tampering or fabricating evidence.

Deputies said they saw a vehicle around 1:13 p.m. Thursday being towed by a U-Haul truck out of a wooded area on Charlotte Drive. The vehicle matched the description of the Nissan Xterra involved in Sunday's incident.

The U-Haul truck was also towing a trailer that had been reported stolen in December 2012.

Ownby and Parton were with the vehicles at the time. They were taken in for questioning and later arrested.

Ownby is being held on $10,000 bond. Officials say he also faces charges in Anderson County. Deputies say his Knox County criminal history includes forgery, theft, unauthorized use of a debit/credit card, possession of drug paraphernalia and worthless checks.

Parton is being held on $13,500 bond. Her criminal history includes promoting manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession, theft, theft by shoplifting vandalism, disorderly conduct and underage consumption. She is also on parole for drug charges.

Michael Paul Hicks, 38, was arrested Sunday and charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder. Deputies say he was found on a property on Old Rutledge Pike in the Nissan Xterra. When officers tried to stop him, they say he tried to run them over.

The deputies fired at Hicks. He was later found on Sanborn Avenue and taken into custody.
