PIGEON FORGE (WATE) - The American Eagle Foundation is searching for a falcon that went missing on Saturday. The non-profit organization says the Peregrine Falcon went missing from the foundation's "weathering yard" in Pigeon Forge near Dollywood around 3 p.m.

The American Eagle Foundation is conducting it's own search, but is asking for Sevier County residents for their help.

The falcon, named Scimtar, is described as a well-trained and gentle educational bird. They say Scimtar is a medium sized falcon, with a grayish-black head, a dark blue-gray back, a small beak, and white and black bars across her chest and wings.

The foundation says the most distinguishing factor will be the leather falconry straps attached to her ankles.

If you believe you have spotted Scintar, you are asked to call either 865-809-3282 or 865-809-2385, or email eaglesmail@eagles.org with the word "URGENT" in the subject line.
