The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the Ford truck, driven by Mark Treadway, 52, was going northbound on I-75 at mile marker 73 on Tuesday, June 17, when it went off the left shoulder and into the median.

The truck then struck an embankment and went airborne, landing 60 feet below the interstate on Matlock Bend Road. The front end of the vehicle struck the concrete.

Treadway died at UT Medical Center on June 19, two days later. He had been cited for DUI drugs prior to his death.
