OAK RIDGE (WATE) - The organs of an 8-year-old boy are being donated after he drowned in an Oak Ridge lake last weekend.

Firefighters say they arrived at Clark Center Park around 4:15 p.m. Saturday to find someone already performing CPR on Brayden Pearson. He was flown to East Tennessee Children's Hospital by LIFESTAR.

A spokesperson for the family says Brayden was pronounced dead at 11:35 a.m. on Monday but remained on life support.  His parents have decided to donate his organs to other children in need.

If you would like to help Brayden's family, a fund has been set up in his name.  You can find that information here.  You can also donate directly to East Tennessee Children's Hospital in Brayden's name.

Brayden's family will be holding a public memorial service at Click Funeral Home on Middlebrook Pike. Funeral arrangements have not been announced at this time.

A family spokesperson says Brayden attended Woodland Elementary School and played as No. 14 for the Boys and Girls Club of America Little League team.
