Jordan McRae drafted by the San Antonio Spurs, traded to 76ers
NEW YORK (WATE) - Former Vol guard Jordan McRae was selected in the 2nd-round of the NBA Draft, 58th overall, by the reigning NBA Champions, the San Antonio Spurs. He was promptly traded to the Philadelphia 76ers according to UT Sports.
Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski reported via Twitter that the Spurs "dumped" the 58th pick and Philadelphia acquired the 58th and 60th. Thus, they acquired the rights to McRae. Tennessee later posted on their website that McRae was traded to the 76ers.
McRae also tweeted and confirmed that he is heading to the 76ers. He becomes the 45th Vol to be drafted in NBA Draft history.
In his senior season at Tennessee he averaged 18.7 points per game and finished 16th on the Vols all-time scoring list with 1,521 points. He also tied for seventh on Tennessee's all-time list for 3-pointers made, with 179.
