Fentress County officials locate missing inmate, in custody

JAMESTOWN (WATE) - Fentress County officials say they have located a missing inmate and he is now in custody.

Sheriff's officials confirmed Friday evening Joshua Carroll, 35, had been brought into the Fentress County Jail. Carroll was found at Ryan Sells home along Penny Cuff Avenue in Jamestown. Sells is the brother of Carroll.

Two women were also arrested, Amy Hood and Teri King. Sells, Hood and King were all charged with aiding and abetting Carroll.

Deputies told 6 News two children were in the home where Carroll was found. The children have been taken into DCS custody.

Sheriff Tony Choate said Carroll ran his truck into a creek off Reed Creek Road in Pall Mall Friday afternoon and ran off.

Officials said Carroll pulled up the jail's fence and escaped Monday during a drug sweep. They said the jail was overcrowded and Carroll was able to sneak out unnoticed.

He was in jail on Monday after picking up new aggravated burglary and vandalism charges.

Carroll faces felony escape charges.
