4th of July events to be held in Knoxville and throughout East Tennessee

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A number of events are planned around East Tennessee to celebrate Independence Day this year, including the annual Festival on the Fourth at World's Fair Park in Knoxville.

The free annual event begins at 4 p.m. Friday and ends at approximately 10 p.m. at the conclusion of the fireworks. The event is rain or shine.

Festival goers will be treated to music, food and fun on the Festival and Performance Lawns at World's Fair Park. The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:35 p.m.

Free parking will be available at the World’s Fair and Blackstock parking lots and the 11th Street, Locust Street, State Street and Market Square garages. ADA parking is available at the Fort Kid Parking Lot.

Other East Tennessee events:

  • Annual Patriot Festival, Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge from noon until approximately 10 p.m.
  • 4th of  July Midnight Parade, Downtown Gatlinburg, includes river raft, regatta and fireworks.
  • Oak Ridge Independence Day Celebration, Oak Ridge - Starts at 7:30 p.m. at AK Bissell Park
  • Lenoir City 4th of July Parade - Broadway in the city’s historic downtown area at 11 a.m.
  • Farragut High School Marching Band - includes floats, dance groups, begins at 9:30 am
  • 16th Annual Fabulous Fireworks Festival, Crossville - 8 a.m- 5 p.m. 
  • Jefferson City 4th of July Parade - 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Main St. and Russell St.  
  • Clinton 4th of July annual celebration - 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Lakefront Park - includes kids activities, laser tag, cornhole tournament, food vendors and fireworks.
  • Museum of Appalachia Anvil Shoot, Norris - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • American Downtown 4th of July Celebration, Greeneville - Big Spring area, Parade at 2 p.m., kids activities at 2:30 p.m., a number of concerts throughout the night, and fireworks at 9 p.m.
