Woman killed, 4 others injured in Kodak three-vehicle crash

KODAK (WATE) - A woman was killed and four others were injured after a traffic crash on Highway 66 in Sevierville Tuesday afternoon.

Sevierville police say a Ford Contour was exiting Food City, 2649 Winfield Dunn Parkway, around 12:50 p.m. and crossed the northbound lanes. As it crossed, it was hit by a Chevy Equinox in the left lane.

The Contour was sent into the southbound lanes and collided with a Chevy Trailblazer. The Contour then went back across the southbound lanes, off the road, and down a short embankment. It ended up in a ditch.

Police say the adult female driver of the Contour died at the scene. A male passenger was taken to UT Medical Center by Lifestar helicopter.

Two adults and an infant in the Equinox were taken to LeConte Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the Trailblazer was not hurt.

Highway 66 was closed for a time but has since reopened. Reconstruction crews are scheduled to be on scene Wednesday morning.

The names of the victims have not been released.
