KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Family members of a missing pregnant woman in California who is originally from Oak Ridge are pleading for the public’s help as it approaches nearly six days since she was last seen.

Erin Corwin was last seen Saturday leaving her home in Twentynine Palms, which is east of Los Angeles.

According to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office, Corwin is three months pregnant.

"Every time the phone rings or whatever, you're hoping that there's some news," Corwin’s mother Lore Heavilin told ABC affiliate KESQ.

For now, Heavilin said her family is left waiting for answers.

California authorities say Corwin mysteriously vanished on her way to Joshua Tree National Park.

Her husband Marine Cpl. Jonathan Corwin reported her missing Sunday.

"I'd give anything to give her a hug right now,” Heavilin said. “I've been working in her kitchen and stuff just thinking we could be cooking together."

Search and rescue volunteers are continuing to search in and around Joshua Tree National Park.

The sheriff’s office said the circumstances surrounding Corwin’s disappearance are suspicious and they’re not ruling out foul play.

"My gut was just tore up,” Heavilin said. “Just tore up and it's just like you feel like you're walking in a nightmare."

Heavilin was already planning a visit to California before her daughter’s disappearance. They were planning to celebrate Corwin’s 20th birthday July 15.

"We were going to go to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World, and she was so excited about that upcoming trip," Heavilin said.

“She was really excited to see her mom," Corwin’s sister-in-law DeeAnna Heavilin said.

DeeAnna Heavilin told 6 News Corwin’s family was discouraged when authorities found Corwin’s car in Twentynine Palms Monday, but not Corwin.

"We're just praying that she's holding up somewhere and that they'll be able to find her,” DeeAnna Heavilin said.

Corwin’s family said they urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.

“If you have seen Erin, if you have heard anything, just even the smallest minute detail that you think is insignificant, please call the sheriff's department," Lore Heavilin said.

"It can't hurt anything and it could be exactly what we need," DeeAnna Heavilin said.

Anyone with information about Erin Corwin is urged to contact the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Specialized Investigation Division at (909) 387-3589.
