TWENTYNINE PALMS, Cali. (WATE) - It has been one week since an expecting mom from East Tennessee disappeared, and search crews are still looking for her.

19-year-old Erin Corwin is originally from Oak Ridge but now lives in Twentynine Palms, California.

Now that California community is holding out hope the pregnant marine wife will soon be found.

"I hope she's out there and I hope she can see this, and if she is, I pray for her to come home safe," said Hannah Hulak, also a marine wife.

Corwin was last seen leaving her home at the base heading to Joshua Tree National Park.

Now helicopters, search teams and dozens of volunteers are combing areas near where Corwin went missing.

"We know that she is out there, it's just a matter of us trying to figure out exactly where," said Captain Dale Mondary with the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department.

Monday search teams found Corwin's car abandoned, and while they are trying to remain optimistic they say her disappearance does seem suspicious.

"We are also looking at it as a potential criminal investigation so we don't want to destroy any evidence we may be able to recover," said Mondary.

Community members are passing out hundreds of purple ribbons--Corwin's favorite color--hoping a break in the case comes soon.

"This could be you. This could be your family. This could be your daughter, brother, sister or mother. You wouldn't want people to give up on you, why give up on her," said Hulak.

Neighbors have set up an account to assist her parents with expenses they will incur while in California: http://www.gofundme.com/b3xr7w
