KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two Knoxville women have been arrested for filing a false police report after having reported a rape and assault that did not happen.

On July 9, 2014, at approximately 11:17 p.m., the Knoxville Police Department are reporting that officers were dispatched to a rape and stabbing call at a business located in the 2300 block of E. Glenwood Avenue. Upon arrival the officers located two females; Ava Pilkay, 21, Knoxville, and Rachel Harris, 25, Knoxville, both suffering from what appeared to be a cut from a knife or glass.

According to the KPD report, one of the females stated that she had been forced to the rear of the business by two males where she was then raped. The second female reported she heard a woman screaming for help and tried to provide assistance. The females indicated that during the struggle they were both cut with some kind of object.

The initial victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. During further questioning, both defendants admitted to conspiring together in making a false report and confessed to going to the extreme of cutting themselves with a piece of glass to aid in the fabrication of their false claims.

Both were arrested for filing a false police report and are being held on a $2000 bond. KPD reports that it is unknown why the females reported the false claims.
