KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Young people under 25 can hardly remember a time when people didn't have cell phones, and in just a short period of time, about 15 years, most people can hardly do without them.

Delores from Lenoir City writes: "Am I the only one who gets annoyed when people talk too loudly on the cell phone in public places?"

When asked about other people's cell phone habits, checking a phone while driving, or looking down at it while behind the wheel, ranked as the most annoying habit.

In a recent survey by Bank of America, 38 percent said they get really steamed when they see someone checking their phone while driving down the road.

Fifteen percent responded saying they get annoyed when people talk too loudly in public while on their cell phone.

A smaller number, seven percent, find that checking a mobile phone during meal times is most annoying.

The survey found that mobile phone connectivity, having that cell phone with you all the times, is just as important as personal hygiene.

When ranked by importance to people's daily lives, 91 percent said putting on deodorant daily and having their cell phone with them every moment of the day were equally as important.

That's significantly more important than television at 76 percent and drinking coffee at 60 percent.

Among the youngest millennials, those between the ages of 18 and 24, 96 percent view mobile phones as more important than their brushing their teeth.

Since the survey was taken by one of the nation's largest banking companies, the results reveal 62 percent of the people said they have tried mobile and online banking services.

Nevertheless, 84 percent said they have visited a branch bank in the last six months. Some habits never die out.
