Knox County deputies arrest suspect in Tazewell Pike robberies

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Knox County Sheriff's Office says it has caught the man suspected in three recent armed robberies on Tazewell Pike.

KCSO says Jeffrey Lynn Beeler, 50, was taken into custody at his father's home on Greendale Road without incident around 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

Deputies say Beeler was identified as the man who robbed Discount Tobacco Store, 5904 Tazewell Pike, on June 25 and July 2. He is also accused of robbing Sunrise Market, 8802 Tazewell Pike, on July 8.

Beeler is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and is being held in the Knox County Detention Facility on $30,000 bond.

He has a criminal history in Knox County that includes passing worthless checks, driving under the influence, violation of the open container law, simple possession, implied consent notice and possession of a handgun while under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance.
