ZAMBOANGA CITY, PHILIPPINES (WFLA) -

A 3-year-old Philippines girl who was pronounced clinically dead, awakened during her funeral service on Sunday.

Video of the girl's parents removing her from the coffin and the mourners' surprise reaction was posted to YouTube.

The Philippine Press reported that the police chief in the town of Aurora confirmed the incident.

The girl's head moved when a relative removed the cover of her coffin, Aurora Police Chief Heidil Teelan said in the Philippine Press report.

“This prompted them to check and confirmed the girl had pulse and was alive,” Teelan said.

The parents of the girl gave her water and took her to a medical clinic after she awakened.

Chief Teelan said that his agency was not the proper authority to confirm the medical case.

But, the girl's parents said she had suffered a severe fever for days and received treatment at town's medical center on Friday, according to the Philippine Press report.

“During that time, the attending clinic personnel and physician confirmed that the young patient had no more pulse and was clinically dead last Saturday morning about 9 a.m.,” Teelan said in the report.
