Four people were arrested by Unicoi County Sheriff's Office deputies Wednesday night after a meth lab was found at the Budget Inn Motel.

Investigators with the Unicoi County Sheriff's Office said someone was taking out the trash when meth materials were discovered. Deputies said the person who reported the findings told them there was a funny smell.

When officers arrived at the scene, they uncovered a meth lab in one of the motel rooms and arrested two suspects-Weston George, 24, and Latasha Fridley, 22.

After the initial arrests and while there were multiple police units and emergency crews on scene, George and Fridley's friends walked into the room while investigators were disposing of the hazardous materials. The friends were identified as Christina Walter, 32, and Ronald Ledford, 39.

Investigators then discovered more drugs and supplies for a meth lab inside Walter's handbag.

George was charged with promotion of methamphetamine, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used or sold and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fridley was charged with possession of a schedule VI drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Walter was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, initiation of methamphetamine manufacturing process, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ledford was charged with driving on a suspended license, facilitating a felony and promotion of manufacture of methamphetamine.

All are set to be arraigned in Sessions Court on Friday.
