KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The 6 Storm Team expects a slow moving area of low pressure will slide along the southern Tennessee border Saturday, allowing moisture to continue to spread northeastward across the region.
This means most will see showers and a few rumbles Saturday, especially earlier in the day. Rain, or rumbles, will become more scattered in nature by the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will once again remain well below average with most seeing highs only in the 70s. The clouds will linger Saturday night with a few more spotty showers possible and lows back in the 60s again.
We will see warmer temperatures Sunday under a variably cloudy sky, which will cause more humid conditions. This will add instability to the atmosphere, which means the more likely timeframe for rain, or rumbles, will come in the afternoon and evening hours with coverage around 40 percent.
This slow moving low will weaken and slide to our east as we start the new work week, leaving a more Summer-like feel to the region. Highs will climb back into the upper 80s with just random pop-up afternoon storms possible each day.
Today: Mostly cloudy with showers likely for most, especially early. Rain will be more scattered by afternoon (80 percent Coverage). High: 76°
Tonight: Clouds linger with spotty rain possible at times (40 percent coverage). Low: 66°.
