Mostly sunny all of Saturday with highs climbing into the 90s

The cool front which went southward across the region on Thursday will start to lift back northward across the region today as a warm front. This will allow warmer and more humid air to flow back into the region this afternoon through Sunday. Highs will reach upper 80s to near 90° for most today under a mostly sunny sky. A few more clouds billow up overnight as temperatures remain muggy in the lower 70s. There could also be a random shower or storms for some overnight, but the opportunity is rather low. The atmosphere continues to get hotter and more humid during the day Sunday with highs reaching the lower 90s for most and Heat Index Values from the low-mid 90s. A strong cold front is then poised to swing across the region late Sunday into Sunday Night, interacting with the unstable air mass in place. This means more widespread storms are expected and some could be severe with damaging winds hail and even an isolated tornado possible. We will follow this situation very carefully! Much cooler air flows in behind this front and we could even see record low temperatures by midweek.
Today: Mostly sunny and warmer. High: 90°.
Tonight: Partly cloudy with a random shower or storm possible (10% coverage). Low: 71°.
Sunday: Hotter and more humid with scattered P.M. storms (40% coverage). Storms more likely Sunday night and some could be severe. High: 92°.
