Tonight: Partly cloudy and muggy with a random shower or storm possible; especially north 30% coverage. Low: 71°.
Sunday: Hotter and more humid with scattered storms. Storms more likely Sunday evening/night and some could be severe 60% coverage. High: 92°.
Monday: Decreasing clouds, breezy and less humid. High: 83°.
Summer-like weather has returned…for a little while anyway. It will be muggy overnight with lows in the upper 60s-lower 70s and a slight chance for some spotty storms overnight, especially farther north thanks to a weakening complex moving southeastward out of Kentucky. We will then see a windy, hot and more humid day on Sunday with many areas eclipsing the 90° mark during the day. Then a strong cold front pushes through late Sunday into Sunday night from northwest to southeast.
It is along and just ahead of this front where we could see some severe storms. Coverage looks to be between 60%-70% of the area. The main threats, IF severe weather occurs, will be damaging winds, hail and even an isolated tornado cannot be totally ruled out, even though that threat is low. Once the front moves through Sunday night, we will see drier and unseasonably cooler air filter in. In fact, there is the potential to see at least 1 or 2 record lows by the middle of the week!
