Lots of events in Downtown Knoxville for First Friday


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - August 1 is First Friday in Knoxville, and there is no shortage of things going on this month.

Friday night in downtown Knoxville:

On Saturday, East Tennessee business owners will support a great cause by competing in “Robotics Rilvary” at the Robotics Revolution event on Saturday, August 2. The event will provide participants multiple opportunities to learn about coding, Lego leagues, robotics, 3D printing, drones and industrial and technological advances.

For sports fans, USA Diving is in town. Future Olympians and some homegrown talent are showing their stuff at the Allen Jones Aquatic Center on the UT campus. The Age Group National competition is going on this weekend, with the Junior National to follow next week.

The Southeast Regional Series cycling event to town again next weekend. Participants will race their bikes through the streets of Downtown on August 9 and 10.

Wrestling fans should get ready for Shakon’ the Sphere. The Friday before Labor Day wrestlers like Devin Driscoll, Jax Zane and Lance Hoyt will be out at World's Fair Park.
