BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WATE) - A 22-month-old Kentucky girl has died, one day after being run over by a driver who did not see her in the road.
The Kentucky State Police originally reported the girl died Monday evening, but later confirmed she died around 2:05 p.m. Tuesday.
Kentucky State Police responded to a call of a small child being struck by a vehicle in Barbourville around 2:44 p.m. Monday.
According to the report, the driver of the vehicle, Scott Rose, 44, of Barbourville, Kentucky, was driving his Ford Mustang along Maggie Cane Road when he stopped for two children crossing in the roadway.
Rose stated that he did not see a third child standing next to his vehicle when he pulled out.
The toddler fell underneath the vehicle and was then struck by the back wheel.
She was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where she later died. This incident is still under investigation, but drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor.
