CLINTON (WATE) - It's now been six weeks since a pregnant woman from Oak Ridge woman went missing in California.

With her whereabouts still unknown, her East Tennessee hometown is coming together in hopes of getting a new lead in the case.

19-year-old Erin Corwin was last seen June 28.

She is originally from Oak Ridge but moved to 29 Palms, California with her husband, Marine Corporal Johnathan Corwin.

Corwin was three months pregnant at the disappearance, and was reported missing by her husband after failing to return home from a visit to California's Joshua Tree National Park.

Her car was found near the military base where she and her husband lived, but six weeks later, and still no sign of Erin.

Saturday, friends, family and members of the Oak Ridge community gathered at Anderson County's Little Ponderosa Zoo to raise money for a reward.

All the money raised through the event, including part of the admission fee to the zoo, will help fund that reward.

They hope the money will encourage anyone who may have information as to what happened to Erin to come forward.

"We hope somebody will come around and tell the whereabouts of this family's child and get them home. I can't imagine the pain of what they're going through of just not knowing. Just waiting on that phone call and just not knowing,” said James Cox, director of the Little Ponderosa Zoo. "We want to do our part to help them find their child and get her back home safely."

Anyone unable to make it out to Saturday's fundraiser who would like to help donate towards the reward can drop off donations at the Little Ponderosa Zoo, located at 629 Granite Road in Clinton.

California's San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office say they are still investigating to determine if Corwin is the victim of foul play.

Court documents claim Corwin had planned to meet another marine, Christopher Lee, for a hunting trip on the day she disappeared.

At this time, no persons of interests or suspects have been named in the case.

If you know anything about Corwin's disappearance, you are asked to contact California authorities at 909-387-3589.
