KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville church hosted a block party on Saturday in celebration of moving into their new home.

A warehouse will be converted into a beautiful campus for their growing congregation.

Overcoming Believers Church has been renting buildings all across the city for the last 11 years. They purchased the Old Mid City Warehouse off Harriett Tubman Street last year.

They said instead of renting space that left them feeling temporary they decided to have a permanent home for worship.

"The lord just gave us a phenomenal opportunity to really move into something huge. He gave us 116,000 square feet, and we're gonna use every inch of it to be able to bless the community," said Pastor Daryl Arnold.

The pastor told 6 News the building doesn't belong to the church or its people. He calls it God's house, and hopes they can better serve the area now that they're moved in.

Overcoming Believers Church is hosting a grand opening Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
