KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Deputies have arrested a man wanted for stealing a trailer from a North Knoxville home in February following a story that aired on 6 News Thursday night.

Mickey Young, 56, was arrested Thursday night at a home on Sevierville Pike. A Knox County Sheriff's Office detective recognized the man shown in surveillance video from the home.

Young was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. He was later charged with theft. York's wife and two others were also arrested on outstanding warrants.

He refused to talk, but officers were able to recognize Young from the video, as well as the truck seen in the video.

Officials then contacted victim Scottie York about the arrest. He says he's thrilled to hear about the arrest and hopes the thief will have to pay for what he stole.

"By 9:00 (Friday) morning, I got a call from Detective Lawson from the city police department saying they had arrested the man they thought was responsible from the newscast," said York.

In the video York provided to 6 News, you can see a white male walk up to York's front porch, knock on the door, and when no one answers he walks over to the trailer parked in the driveway. He then goes back to his white Chevrolet pick-up truck, grabs a pair of bolt cutters, and cuts the lock off the trailer.

The suspect then backs his truck up to the trailer, gets out and starts hooking the trailer to the back of his truck. He walks back to his truck again, moves it a few inches, then gets back out and finishes hooking it to his truck. He then drives off with York's trailer and about $500 worth of lumber.

Deputies say they did not find the stolen trailer.

York says his only mistake was not contacting 6 On Your Side sooner.

"I had my sister contact Channel 6 and that was probably the best move I could have made, because the more eyes seeing the man in the video, well that just makes it easier for him to be identified and within hours we have a result."
