Humid weekend with some scattered storms in Knoxville

6 Storm Team Meteorologist

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The heat and humidity will stick around this weekend with opportunities for scattered storms as well. It will remain muggy overnight with the threat for some scattered showers/storms overnight into the early morning hours if a complex of storms holds together moving through Kentucky.

That would mean we see more of a variably cloudy start to our Saturday, followed by a little more sunshine through the afternoon. That will help fuel additional scattered P.M. storms though across the region. It will be warm and humid regardless with highs near 90° and heat index values in the mid-upper 90s.

It will stay steamy for Sunday with more pop-up P.M. storms around, but it looks a little quieter as we go into next week. It will remain seasonable temperature-wise, but maybe not quite as humid.

TONIGHT: Limited storms early, but a little more likely overnight with 40% coverage. Low: 72°

SATURDAY: Variably cloudy, warm and humid with 40% coverage of showers and storms. Opportunities early in day and again for afternoon/evening High: 91.

SUNDAY: Warm and humid with 40% coverage of mainly P.M. storms. High: 90°.
