Some Farragut High students briefly evacuated due to boiler issue

FARRAGUT (WATE) - Some students at Farragut High School were evacuated Friday morning due to a what was suspected to be a gas leak but turned out to be an issue with a boiler.

The possible leak was reported just after 11 a.m. in the school's gym, which was evacuated. 

Knox County Schools spokesperson Melissa Ogden said the gym and auditorium areas were the only facilities evacuated. Students were back in class by around 12:30 p.m.

There are no injuries or reports of illness.

Knox County Schools maintenance is working on the problem. Knoxville Utilities Board also responded and acted as backup.
