LOUISVILLE (WATE) - An East Tennessee rehabilitation center is celebrating 25 years of helping people on their way to sobriety.

Hundreds of people are gathering at Cornerstone of Recovery in Louisville this weekend for the alumni reunion. Robbie Leinart is one of those success stories. She says she went through the program back in 2010 for an addiction to narcotics.

"I found I had difficulty trying to stop and I was emotionally, spiritually and physically just wiped out," Leinart said.

She says the treatment worked for her, and she's now back to work in the medical field.

With honesty, commitment and having an open mind, Leinart says she's now free from her addiction.

"That's what this whole reunion is about. It's about everyone here getting together that have gone through all the trials and tribulations, to help them be clean and sober."

Chris Brewster says the program helped him stop his alcohol addiction. He now works at the facility as a recovery coach.

"For me, it's a way to come back and remember where you started. It's a way to stay connected," Brewster said about the reunion.

CEO Dan Caldwell says staying connected is one of the secrets to the program's 25 years of success.

"What this is is showing hey you can celebrate life and have true depth of joy through spiritual relationships and connections with others that don't involve chemicals of any kind," Caldwell said.

Caldwell says the facility helps about 1,200 people each year.
