6 News crews at the high school say Allen's family then left the vigil to meet up with him.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office confirms Allen was found safe.

According to a witness, Andy Allen walked out of the woods on Hard Road at around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Deputies say he then walked in to a Weigel's on Northshore, where a second person identified him and called 911.

He had been taken to the back room of the store when deputies arrived.

Allen told officers that he had been lost in the woods and couldn't find his way out.

Rural/Metro examined Allen and he was sent home with his parents.

Allen's father, Kevin Allen, is an assistant district attorney general for Knox County.
