KNOXVILLE (AP) -- Tennessee cornerback Inky Johnson is no longer playing football.

Coach Phillip Fulmer says Thursday that Johnson can't play because of the injury he suffered last season.

Johnson was involved in a hit hard during the Air Force game in September. He damaged blood vessels and nerves in his upper right arm and shoulder area.

Fulmer says Johnson remains in school and might want to be a coach some day.

The Vols hope Johnson will be approved for a medical scholarship.
