KNOXVILLE (WATE) -- Knoxville police made an arrest Sunday morning following a deadly shooting Saturday night.

Eric McLean, 31, is charged with first degree murder of Sean Powell, 18.

The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. in front of Mclean's house at 2424 Coker Avenue in North Knoxville.

Investigators tell 6 News Powell was shot and killed in his parked car.

Neighbors reported seeing a black vehicle parked in front of McLean's pick-up truck.

Moments later they heard gunshots and saw Mclean's wife run out of her home.

"I came out my front door. I saw Erin run from the car and truck area screaming and I hollered 'What happened? What happened?' says a neighbor, who wants to remain anonymous.  "No one answered except someone yelled, 'Call 911!'"

The neighbor says she saw McLean drive off shortly after the gunfire.

She then walked up to the victim's car.

"I got brave enough, got the flashlight from my car and I saw the man was shot," says the neighbor. "Blood was all over his head area."

Knoxville police say Powell was shot through the driver-side window, shattering the glass. The bullet hit him in the head.

Neighbors aren't sure the relationship between Mclean and Powell, but say they think they've seen the black vehicle parked on the street before.

Neighbors say the Mclean family has lived there for 10 years and have always been friendly.

"It shocked me because I think a lot of the two over there," the anonymous neighbor said. "He's a good father. They have kids who go to school up there. He'd walk them to school and back."

Knoxville police made the arrest just after 9 a.m. Sunday after a caller reported seeing a man with a rifle on the railroad tracks near Westland Drive in West Knoxville.

Police have also recovered what they believe is the murder weapon.
