MORRISTOWN (WATE) -- A Hamblen County teacher accused of sleeping with a high school student will not get his job back.

Michael Crosby, 36, was fired from Morristown East High School back in February. At a two day hearing this week, Crosby was trying to get that decision reversed.

There is no proof any sexual relationship ever took place. Morristown Police have investigated Crosby but have not filed any charges against him. School leaders say he was also let go for unprofessional conduct and insubordination.

Crosby's own son brought the relationship to light when he spoke to the principal at East.

"He called numerous times, they talked on the phone, he (the son) shared, he did not feel like the relationship between his father and this student was appropriate," says Hamblen County Director of Schools Dale Lynch, PhD.

The school board voted unanimously that Crosby should remain fired. His attorney tells local newspaper in Hamblen County that they plan to appeal again.
