MURFREESBORO (WATE) -- Again, it's Maryville.

For the 7th time in the past 8 seasons, the Maryville Rebels have won the Class 4A championship, beating Maplewood 28-13.

"I am just so proud of this team because they had pressure on them," said Maryville head coach George Quarles.  "They had pressure on them the whole year.  People talk about the win streak and what that meant, and they battled through it and got it done anyway."

The Rebels have now won 60 straight ballgames.

Maryville made few mistakes in the victory.  Thomas Shuler ran for a touchdown and caught a touchdown pass as well.  Shuler's touchdown reception came on the Rebels trademark double pass trick play, as quarterback Brent Burnette threw a backwards pass to Steven Shiver, who then launched a perfect sipral to a wide open Shuler.   That third quarter hookup put the game away.

Chris Jordan had two touchdown receptions, both thrown by Burnette.
