Hello East Tennessee!
I feel beyond blessed to be co-hosting Living East Tennessee on WATE 6 on Your Side! Born and raised in Knoxville, there’s no place I’d rather be!
2021 marks my 21st year in broadcasting! I knew at a very young age that I wanted to pursue my love for television and storytelling and actually had my first big break right here at WATE. As an 8th grader, I was invited to share my school’s upcoming events on the station’s morning show. My love for broadcasting continued into my college career at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, where I graduated with a degree in Communications and a minor in Broadcasting. I then started my career as a reporter and news anchor in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, at WKYT, before landing a job back here in my hometown of Knoxville.
For 18 years I have been honored to tell the stories of my East Tennessee neighbors. Now, I feel it’s such a blessing to work with such a great team here at WATE 6 on Your Side though our new show Living East Tennessee. What an incredible gift to work alongside those devoted to telling stories that make us all smile and make life easier for our families along the way.
To my new friends and viewers in the area, here are just a few things about me.I am the proud mother of two wonderful sons, Westen, and Carson. I have an incredible husband named Jeff, who is a former Big Orange football player. So, yes, we all bleed Orange at my house! We both have huge families who live here in East Tennessee and we are so blessed that we were both raised with the same family values. When I am not busy chasing my sons to events and practices, I love to head to a thrift store. It’s such a thrill to see what great home accessories, fantastic one of a kind fashion finds, or unique furniture pieces I can find. I also enjoy DIY landscaping projects, gardening, interior decorating, and all things Christmas!
I am so proud to be a native East Tennesseean and love our wonderful community! I thank you so much for all of your support and look forward to seeing y’all soon!
