Friends of Literacy hosting Bachelor Auction for their 9th year

Community

Friends of Literacy is hosting their 9th Bachelor Auction on Friday, March 29 at the Mill & Mine, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

This event brings together some of Knoxville’s most accomplished and talented men.

By auctioning dates with available bachelors, Friends of Literacy will be able to help overcome illiteracy in East Tennessee. Twenty-one bachelors will take the stage, each with a unique date package, donated by local businesses. The live auction also features great stand-alone date packages that anyone can place a bid on. These include a Brushy Mountain Penitentiary Paranormal Tour, NASCAR tickets, Moon River Festival tickets, Smokies suite tickets, and season tickets to The Shed.

Funds raised through the Bachelor Auction allow Friends of Literacy to provide free high-quality literacy and adult education programs for residents in our community who lack sufficient education while facing challenges of daily life, including the 1 in 10 adults who are illiterate or functionally illiterate.

Every year, the bachelors work diligently before the auction to raise money for Friends of Literacy. The top fundraiser is crowned Knoxville’s “most eligible bachelor.”

General admission tickets are $50 in advance, $60 at the door, and will include food and cash bar. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for general admission and the auction begins at 8:00 p.m. The VIP Champagne Reception begins at 6:30 p.m., and offers VIP ticket holders the chance to meet and mingle with the bachelors prior to hitting the stage.

Tickets are available on the Friends of Literacy website, or by calling 865-549-7007.
