Fundraiser for ‘Friends of Literacy’ happens ahead of Bachelor Auction

Community

Money raised tonight as we get closer to a bachelor auction, helping Friends of Literacy.

The goal of the auction is to help support adult education as people are given the opportunity to bid on area bachelors, which happens March 29.

A fundraising event tonight at Est8te boutique helped to get a jump start on raising money.

Twenty percent of the proceeds raised Wednesday going toward Friends of Literacy.

The owner of Est8te saying the fundraisers like Wednesday’s are bigger than just one event.

“I can’t do what I love to do if people aren’t supporting locally that’s one really special part of Bearden and this whole area,” said Est8te owner, Nell Kedrow. “It’s a lot of the community supporting local businesses and that way, we can give back to other organizations and help the community continue to grow.”

Now, if you want to go to this year’s Bachelor Auction, it will be happening March 29th at the Mill & Mine.
