Ice Bears return to Knoxville Friday with magic in mind

Community

The Knoxville Ice Bears hockey team has had four straight road games but Friday night, return home to Knoxville for a night of magic…and even some butterbeer.

Ice Bears head coach Jeff Carr stopped by WATE 6 On Your Side Wednesday to share some news about the first-ever themed ‘Harry Potter’ night.

The hockey games have seen other themed nights for fans to enjoy and take part in, such as ‘Star Wars night,’ ‘baby races,’ ‘weiner dog races,’ respectively.

Friday night will be all about The Boy Who Lived and the world of wizards, witches and more – and some hockey as well. Hopefully no Dark Lord surprises.

Fans can expect a round of Quidditch at the first intermission of the game, as well as both alcoholic and nonalcoholic butterbeer, (the often-consumed drink at The Three Broomsticks pub in the beloved books and movies) and maybe even a special Chuck-A-Puck.

Friday night’s game will be against the Fayetteville Marksmen at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum.
