Knox County libraries host readings for 50th anniversary of ‘the Very Hungry Caterpillar

Knox County libraries will host readings of a classic children’s book in honor of the 50th anniversary of its release. 

Knox County libraries will host story time at local school and public libraries all across the county to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the book ‘the Very Hungry Caterpillar’, by Eric Carle. 

Each participating library will read stories, do crafts and have special activities. 

Here are the library locations that are participating: 

  • South Knoxville Library- Preschool @ 10:30 am
  • Bearden Branch Library- Preschool @ 10:15am
  • Halls Branch Library: Toddler/Preschool @ 11am
  • Norwood Branch Library: Baby @ 10am; Preschool @ 11am 
  • Carter Branch Library: Preschool @ 11am
  • Howard Pinkston Branch Library: combined @ 10:30 am 
  • Burlington Branch Library: Preschool @ 10:45am
  • Farragut Branch Library: Baby @ 10:30am
  • Murphy Branch Library : Preschool @ 2:30 pm
  • Lawson McGhee Children’s Room: Baby @ 10:20; Preschool @ 11 
  • Karns Branch Library: Baby @ 10:30am; Preschool @ 11am
