Knoxville polar plunge to benefit Tennessee Special Olympics

Community

This weekend you can take part in a polar plunge to help Special Olympics athletes across Tennessee.

Plunges are taking place all over the country, including eight across our state.

A new Knoxville location aims to help Special Olympics Tennessee. Their mission is to help provide year-round training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The polar plunge will be on Saturday, February 23. There will be a pool set up on the World’s Fair Park festival lawn.

Registration opens at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The costume contest follows at 11 a.m. The plunge itself starts at 11:30 a.m.

If you want to join, you have to raise $75 dollars or $50 for students and children.
