The MLK Commission continued Knoxville Martin Luther King Jr. Week festivities with its annual leadership luncheon.
Community members were recognized for their work to help transform the Knoxville area. WATE 6 On Your Side Anchor Tearsa Smith emceed the event.
Three awards were given out to honor individuals and groups in Knoxville that do their best to serve the community.
“It’s always good to recognized and highlight those who are invested but also living through the life and legacy of Dr. King. His dream will never die. His dream will stay alive,” said Clarence Vaughn.
The leadership luncheon is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Knoxville MLK Commission.
