Tuesday was a special day for Random Acts of Flowers as the organization delivered its 100,000th bouquet at Parkwest Medical Center.
The organization has been delivering donated flowers to patients for 11 years.
Hundreds of volunteers help to put the bouquets together and pass them out to those who need a little cheering up.
The newly appointed executive director of Random Acts of Flowers, Mick Reed, says they aren’t just delivering smiles, but they are also giving moments of kindness and encouragement.
“That’s 100,000 smiles that we have delivered to people in health care facilities that need a moment of kindness,” says Reed.
The next step, according to Reed, is to deliver 200,000 bouquets – but that may take a few more years.
