‘So You Think You Can Sing’ coming to Oak Ridge, benefitting charity

If you’ve always wanted to be recognized for your beautiful singing voice, and win a little cash, then you might be interested in the “So You Think You Can Sing” competition.

Kelsi Walters, also known as Miss Volunteer 2019, stopped by the WATE 6 On Your Side studios to tell us more about the event, which is also a fundraiser.

The fundraiser is for Canine Companions For Independence,  a nonprofit organization that trains and provides assistance dogs for adults, children and veterans with disabilities – free of charge.

“I am a huge advocate for my platform, ‘Anything Is Pawssible’ – which focuses on service dogs as well as therapy dogs for those in need,” says Walters. “Those in need can be any individual with a disability, but also military veterans as well. My father, Scott Walters, served in the military and was diagnosed with a Traumatic Brain Injury, he is the reason for my choosing of my platform.”

The singing competition is the second annual event.

For more information, see its Facebook event here.

It’s happening Saturday, March 23 at The Grove Theater, 123 Randolph Rd, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
