The United Way of Greater Knoxville’s help hotline, 2-1-1, is assisting citizens in free tax prep. People who make around $55,000 or less will be able to access free tax help and preparation. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to those who qualify.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is conveniently located in more than a dozen places throughout Knox County. To find the best location for you and your schedule, call 2-1-1 (alternate (865)-215-4211) weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
