Julie Ryan from the blog, Less than Perfect Life of Bliss, shared this easy idea for beautiful leaf garland, a simple way to add some color to your decor.
- colored cardstock (around 24 pieces for 240 leaves)
- leaf pattern (on the blog)
- xacto knife and cutting mat
- 10 to 12 feet of thick twine
- hot glue gun
To make the garland, you simply cut the leaves from the cardstock in the colors of your choice using the leaf pattern linked on the blog. Next, score each leaf down the center longways with the xacto knife to create a fold on each leaf. Then, use the hot glue gun to attach and layer the leaves onto the twine, keeping the leaf tips pointed in the same direction and extending them onto each other to give it a full and wide appearance. At the end of the garland, attached the last group of leaves pointing in the opposite direction for a finished look on each end.
