Hello East Tennessee! I am thrilled to be co-hosting Living East Tennessee on WATE 6 On Your Side! I have been on the team as a reporter here at WATE for a year now, and have worked in the market for 5 years.
I am a small town girl. I grew up in a big family near my grandfather’s farm in Southwestern Virginia. I attended Concord University in West Virginia. My television career spans more than a decade, previously working as a reporter and anchor at WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia and WVNS in Beckley, West Virginia.
My husband, Mario Azevedo, is from Knoxville and will always take credit for turning me into a VOL. Our son, Mario III will soon turn 2 years-old. He is our world, keeping both our hands and hearts very full!
My faith is strong and my passion for people brings me the most joy. Life at home for me is all about faith, family, homecooked meals, and you can’t forget a glass of sweet iced tea. East Tennessee is full of big hearts and open arms and I look forward to sharing uplifting stories with you from our neighbors who are doing the most good.
