One African-American’s legacy in Sevier County spans 7 generations

Living East Tennessee

Nearly 7 generations ago, one Sevier county man left his mark on the East Tennessee community by building some prominent spots in Sevierville through brickmasonry, and passing on the trade to his children and grandchildren.

His legacy includes the Sevier County Courthouse, a couple of Sevier County hospitals, churches, the masonic lodge, hotels and many more.

These five cousins share in their great-great grandfather’s legacy by remembering Isaac Dockery.
