KNOXVILLE (WATE) – One person is dead and another was sent to the hospital after a two-car crash Monday afternoon in West Knoxville.
Knoxville Police Department said the driver of a 2015 Hundai, Joseph Michael Giacobbe, 66, was killed. The driver of a 2005 Pontiac, a minor, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said they responded to N. Gallaher View Road, north of Walbrook at around 4:40 p.m. According to a preliminary investigation, Giacobbe tried to turn left from a parking left and pulled in front of the Pontiac.
The driver of the Pontiac was not able to stop and crashed into the side of the Hyundai, according to police.
