OAK RIDGE (WATE) – Oak Ridge Police Department is investigating a three vehicle accident at the intersection of Oak Ridge Turnpike and Jefferson Avenue.

Police said one of the drivers, Christy Duncan, 37, died at the hospitals from injuries sustained during the accident. Vicky Gilmore, 61 was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, violation of implied consent law, vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain a lane of travel and reckless driving.

When first responders got to the scene, at around 9:47 p.m. Friday, they said they said they had to extricate Duncan and her 4-year-old daughter from a vehicle. Both were transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center, according to police.

Before the crash, police said Gilmore was driving erratically. They said she drove on a sidewalk at one point, hit a street sign near Kroger’s and ran a red light at S. Illinois Avenue and Oak Ridge Turnpike.
