ALOCA (WATE) – The Alcoa Police Department is searching for a man who robbed a Subway restaurant. He could be connected to another robbery at an Alcoa business last week.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Monday at the Subway on Topside Road in Louisville.
Associates at the restaurant say a man came in from the side door, jumped over the counter and demanded cash from both registers.
Detective Kris Sanders says the Alcoa Police Department is investigating several armed robberies in the area that may be related.
“It’s still early in our investigation but we think this particular robbery that occurred this morning at Subway may be connected to another robbery that we’re working on that occurred about a week an a half ago that occurred at a business on Alcoa Hwy,” he said.
Sanders says he’s hopeful someone will recognize the man’s walk or his mannerism in this video to help them solve the case.
“We believe that if we get the footage out there and the right person sees it and is willing to cooperate with us they may help us to identify the individual,” said Sanders.
Sanders says the clerk was shaken up but no one was hurt and the next step is getting this person identified.
After this incident, only the drive-thru at the Subway on Topside Road will be open 24 hours. Employees will now close the lobby at 11:30 p.m.
The suspect is described as a white male between the ages 25-35. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, black boots and a black mask.
If you recognize this man or have any information, police are asking you to call the Alcoa Police Crime Hotline Number at 865-380-4715.
