KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Country music icon and legend Dolly Parton will help ring in 2023 with singer-songwriter — and goddaughter — Miley Cyrus.

The East Tennessee icon tweeted the news Nov. 21, alongside a video of her and Cyrus.

Parton and Cyrus will host the “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” for two hours, beginning at 10:30 p.m. EST. It airs on NBC and on the company’s app, Peacock.

A video on Parton’s Twitter feed shows the two inviting people to join them in Miami that night.

“It’s going to be legendary,” Parton says in the video.

Cyrus tweeted images of the two together.

The show’s lineup promises performances and special guests.

Last year’s New Year’s Eve Party involved Cyrus and Pete Davidson. The 2021 special was produced by Lorne Michaels, the creator and executive producer of “Saturday Night Live.”

Cyrus and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, will also be in “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas.” She also has covered Parton’s well-known song, “Jolene.”
